With all this excitement of new content within the past week you don't think I forgot about gold did you? The following post shows my experience with the patch from my gold making point of view.

My previous experience with patch 4.2 was that you could never stock up on enough on gems, especially Red gems. To prepare I've been buying up a ton of ore and prospecting/transmuting for weeks before the patch. I had roughly 240 Inferno Rubies to begin with.

As soon as the servers went up on Tuesday, I jumped all over the auction house. Fully stocking it up with every cut in my arsenal. For most of Tuesday I was "that guy" camping the AH undercutting and re-posting. Also, I got some other item enhancements ready such as some Powerful Ghostly Spellthreads and Flintlockes Woodchuckers. Unfortunately no Leg Armors as my LW is too low. Still, I was set and nothing was gonna stop me!

And then it began. The marvelous flood of yellow text spamming my chat box. <Insert maniacal laughter here> I could barely keep up with restocking sold gems, it was glorious! As I said before, for most of Tuesday I spent my time camping and keeping the AH stocked with my gems, with some time running the new dungeons but always posting between queues.
Within the first day I had earned 80k gold.

For the first few days I was rocking it. One of my friendlier competitors, however, was out of stock while I still had quite a bit. I thought I was good, but a couple days later my Inferno Ruby supply was dwindling down to nothing. With Ore as expensive as it gets during new patches I would have to take the hit and sell only others. (Presently I have restocked again.)

I apologize for such a long post. My excitement for 4.3 and my earnings is overwhelming! Below I have screenshots of my MySales records for the past week:

200k gold is not too shabby for a week of selling mostly gems!(3 Jasper dailies in a row, too!) As a side note, I find the disparity from Int gems to Str/Agi to be very interesting. Perhaps an influx of casters who wanted the Legendary staff and switched mains? Then again 6 of the 10 classes in WoW use Int in some way so that makes sense.

Besides gems the following items are hot sellers right now:

- Various Enchants and Enchanting mats such as Greater Celestial Essences

Engineering
- Flintlocke's Woodchucker

Tailoring
- Powerful Ghostly Spellthread
- Powerful Enchanted Spellthread

Leatherworking
- Drakehide Leg Armor
- Charscale Leg Armor
- Dragonscale Leg Armor

Don't think that just because the initial rush has depleted that you won't sell anything, quite the contrary. With the ease and pace of the new dungeons many players will be running and gearing up alts and that's where you come in with your gear enhancements. Just get out there and sell!JoshDJXhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13667307742417325982noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9214463330498362862.post-43901945235858950412011-08-24T16:09:00.000-07:002011-08-24T16:10:48.089-07:00Mobile Armory AH Update - Saving Time! The Mobile Armory App just updated last night with some interesting feature additions to the Auction House. Both being major time savers. (Time is Money, friend.)

Setting Undercut Values

When posting from the Mobile Armory App, you can now set it to automatically adjust your Buyout price to whatever amount you wish to undercut the lowest poster. This can save a ton of time instead of tapping values for each and every items Bid and Buyout prices.

Let me start out by saying this feature can be a major game changer. The Mobile AH now shows how many like-priced auctions are up and puts them in a single group, much like Auctionator's Buy tab. When you tap/click on one of these groups you'll find that the next window allows you to purchase the maximum amount of stacks being sold at the same price. With one touch of the 'Buy' button (assuming you're already logged in and authenticated) the app begins to purchase each of the auctions!

But, what does this mean?

Now you have a choice to either be in game spam clicking Auctionator when buying massive quantities of items or log out for a moment and purchase it all with a single touch. This is a major benefit for auctioneers who keep on eye on markets while working or busy.

One thing to keep in mind when using this new feature is the cap on Purchasing and Posting from the Mobile Auction House. (That's cap is still in, right? :( ) I can foresee many of us reaching that cap regularly thanks to the overall convenience of buying so much at once.

If the Mobile App is getting this treatment, which rivals if not surpasses in-game addons, it may mean that the in-game AH might have another overhaul in the purchasing department. I welcome an Auctionator style of functionality coming to the default AH UI.

What do you guys think of this new feature?
Any ideas on how we could further take advantage of it?

Thanks for reading! :)

After you're done gearing up your character with full Justice Point gear and higher you may notice that you're starting to accumulate a lot of extra points with not much to spend it on. How can you make a profit on them?

Wrath Gems
This is my favorite way to dump my excess Justice Points. You can purchase Wrath gems at the vendors in Dalaran. Personally I've only bought the Cardinal Rubys for 220JP each, with raws selling for about 175g and cut for 200g. Clearly a Jewelcrafter will benefit most from this since you can pick and choose whether to sell Raw or Cut according to your market.

Justice Boots
Another thing you could spend Justice points on are the BoE boots. Formerly known as Valor Boots, these are now easy to come by since they now simply cost Justice points. They've been going for about 500-2000g on my server.

These are two methods of dumping any extra Justice Points I have, what about you guys? Have you found other profitable venues? Leave a comment!JoshDJXhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13667307742417325982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9214463330498362862.post-20448263744930473732011-07-12T15:22:00.000-07:002011-07-12T15:22:04.282-07:00Quick UpdateHello everybody! I just wanted to give out a quick update.

Lately I've been leveling many of my alts and professions to get a better feel for each of them. Sure, I, and many of you, may already know some things about making gold in just about every profession, but I want to experience it for myself and tell you all what works well for me. Also, I hope to put out some profession specific posts on what you can use to make gold with each so stay tuned for those!JoshDJXhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13667307742417325982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9214463330498362862.post-7221618182961972332011-06-29T12:12:00.000-07:002011-06-29T12:12:49.313-07:00My first day of 4.2My, oh my, was patch day amazing for gold making. I didn't manage to log into the game until about 2 hours after the servers came up, but still made a killing by my standards!

Let's talk Gems, shall we?

I had over 200 uncut gems of each color, as well as more ore sitting in my mailbox, before the patch hit so I was more than ready to go! So, I log into my Jewelcrafter and make some of each cut, and post them. Patch day demand is amazing. Within minutes I had many gems selling.

I was pretty much an AH camper for most of the day. Cutting, posting, and undercutting my way along. I also did the Thrall Questline on my main and the starting Hyjal dailies on my main and my Blacksmith (Recipes in the future :D).
At the end of the day I managed to get 40k gold by solely selling cut gems! That's a personal record! Now I must get back into the game and continue my JC business for day 2!
According to MMO Champion, 4.2 will be dropping on Tuesday June 28.

Patch 4.2 brings us the first new tier since Cataclysm was released. The most popular things to stock up and prepare for are Gems, Leg Armors and Belt Buckles. This is because with each piece of new gear players earn they need to gem or enchant them with something. Also some classes may have had some changes to their abilities so keep those Glyphs prepared as well. Be sure to stock up on raw materials like Volatiles, Ore, Herbs, and Leather so you're able to diversify to more demanding markets and not lock yourself into one set of goods.

Take advantage of new gear and class changes on patch day! I hope everyone makes tons of gold!JoshDJXhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13667307742417325982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9214463330498362862.post-79350127489254957592011-06-04T13:24:00.000-07:002011-06-04T13:51:52.351-07:00Chocolate Cookies

Today I want to tell you all about my antics selling this odd cooking item. The Chocolate Cookie is a new Cataclysm recipe bought for 3 Chef's Awards at your local recipe vendor. Many people overlook this recipe since it's not a stat food and might only be purchased after getting the main stat recipes for their character.

These Chocolate Cookies are made with the very simple ingredients of Cocoa Beans and Simple Flour. Simple Flour can be purchased from the Cooking Supplies vendor near the Cooking Trainer. Cocoa Beans on the other hand come from using 1 Chef's Award to buy a bag of Imported Supplies, which in turn can have 40 or more Cocoa beans within. Essentially these just cost Chef's Awards that you can get a few of (or more) each day with the Cooking Daily quest.

Why do I even bother with making these cookies? Because there's a relatively new achievement that players will want to get called You'll Feel Right As Rain. My only problem is getting a nice stock of Cocoa Beans to work with.

What have I done to get a good supply of Cocoa Beans? I'll tell you! I have a younger cousin that started playing recently and is pretty greedy with gold as he saves for his mains Epic Flying. I told him I'd buy each bag of Imported Supplies for 10g and to C.O.D. them to me. Lo and behold he was excited for the money he could make doing the dailies and selling me the bags. Little does he know that I'm turning those same bags around for profit! Yes, evil I know! :(

Using my new found stock of Chocolate Cookies I began barking in trade:

[You'll Feel Right As Rain] when you try my [Chocolate Cookie]s!(91 for Achieve) On the AH~
I have stacks of 20 and 11 listed up on the AH ready for people wishing to get the achievement. Within seconds of barking I already had a couple people buying!

Hello, everyone! I figured I'd give a real introductory post this time around. Lol.

I'm Hyper, or JoshDJX on Twitter, and I started playing WoW during patch 3.1 and wasn't level 80 until a bit after 3.2 came out with ToC. For about the last year I've been an avid reader/lurker on JMTC as well as the many other gold making blogs out there! I believe I started getting interested in making gold back when the podcast CASTaclysm was still going and I tried out some of Markco's gold tips mentioned on each episode. Since then I became hooked on reading gold blogs and listening to many podcasts such as Call to Auction, Auction House Junkies, Addicted 2 Azeroth and my most recent hook Power Word: Gold.

My goal with this blog initially is to get my feet wet into blogging about my experiences making gold or just WoW in general. Perhaps not getting in the nitty gritty calculations, but more along the lines of trying out a strategy and posting about my personal findings. After a bit of getting use to I'm sure I'll be on top of the latest and upcoming patch changes and opportunities. I'm going to try having 2 posts per week at the very least as my brainstorming juices begin flowing! (Like the Slime pipes!)
This will be my first real jump into blogging so please bear with me as I clean up the site and learn these magical blogspot tools. If anyone has any suggestions for the blog layout and such please leave a comment! =]

Game on,
The Satchel of Exotic Mysteries is a BoA bag received when you complete a Heroic while preforming the Call to Arms role. Contained within is Gold and low chances for Rare quality gems, Flasks, Elixirs, Pets and Mounts.

Let me share my experience with this. I'm normally a Ret Pali but today I decided to Tank and get these bags. I ran 2 Cataclysm Heroics pretty well and the group ran very smoothly. The same 4 players came along for my 2nd heroic as well so I'm fairly sure I was doing well. Lol. Anyways, once I finished I checked the contents of the bags. Both of them contained about 80 gold and a Rare gem. That might not seem too much, but considering that the normal gold reward for completing a dungeon is mostly spent on repairing after said dungeon this is an adequate bonus.

I only ran 2 heroics and came out with some extra gold. The bag has a lot of potential with selling pets it may drop, especially if you get lucky and obtain a pet from the opposite factions Argent Tournament pets. The bags are certainly worth it for Tanks and Healers when the role pops up, and the Call to Arms feature is a decent incentive for helping to lower queue times.JoshDJXhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13667307742417325982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9214463330498362862.post-57403175228332383262011-05-05T01:15:00.000-07:002011-05-05T01:23:51.073-07:00Winterspring Cub Pet for Profit!

What's that? New pets came out with 4.1, you say? Yup!
Along with Patch 4.1 this cute little guy was added to a vendor in Everlook. For about 50g(less with a Goblin and/or a guild perk) you can have your very own Winterspring Cub. But, wait! This pet is Bind on Use. So, while you're getting it for yourself, use the trip to stock up on them and sell them on the Auction House. I've been selling them regularly for around 85-180g a pop!
It's worth noting that if you're a Goblin Engineer you can use the Dimensional Ripper to teleport you there whenever you need to restock.
This pet is sure to be a popular hit not only for its cute nature, but for pet collectors wishing to complete the new 100 and 125 Pets achievements!JoshDJXhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13667307742417325982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9214463330498362862.post-31707244296795990582011-05-04T20:38:00.000-07:002011-05-04T20:38:35.268-07:00First Post!Hello, everyone and welcome to Hyper Craft!
